Fiber For_'em
September 10, 11, & 12 were the dates for the First Annual Fiber Arts For_'em for 2004. Held on the beautiful grounds at Camp Pearl Louisiana it was a wonderfull event that started Friday Sept 10 and ended with the Vendors leaving on Sunday morning. All of the Ladies that make up Cajun Lagniappe wish to thank each and every person that made this event so successful! Our desire to promote and preserve the Fiber Crafts was thankfully realized in the participation of all who attended.
We have a few picture of the event we would like to share with you. They are not as many as we would have liked to have, we had so much fun with wonderful vendors, and great classes.
the event began Friday morning with the unloading of vendors and preparing for the big day Saturday.

Of course the first to arrive got their wheels placed into the "retreat, play area early!

There was a symposium held Friday evening on "Marketing" led by Rhonda Selser, and Susie Stretton. They began the discussion and listed items while all the vendors took part in the discussion sharing ideas.

Rhonda began the discussion as Susie listed items on the easel
These notes were posted on the outside wall of the east classroom so all could share the knowledge that was shared during the symposium.
Saturday morning begin with breakfast in the cafateria

Then Registrations begin in the Gym where the activities were held.

We had to have our coffee early to start the day!
by this time the Vendors booths were up and ready to go! They were so enticing with lots and lots of goodies!

The mornings activities begin with classes, and I am sorry to say we do not have pictures of all the classes, but they were just wonderful with students that were fantastic and made the Fiber For_'em so special!
The Beginning Knitting Class taught by Beth Syron:

Warping the loom, taught by Margrett Stretton, Which flowed into Charlene Quinilty's class Beginning Weaving
The Quilting Class taught by Shirley Spearow

equally wonderful classes which I do not have pictures of was the class taught by Suzanne Corriera of Elgin Texas on Advanced Knitting, the Needle Felting class taught by Sara Syron, Mohair Basket by Susie Stretton, Beginning Spinning by Margrett Stretton, and the Beginning Weaving Class taught by Charlene Quinilty.
We hope you will join us next year at this time for this wonderful event and will check back on the site to see what classes will be offered. We invite you to email us and let us know what classes in the Fiber Arts you are interested in and what you would like to learn to do. We can also make arrangements for classes to teach you our Arts if you will let us know. Demo's are also possible at available times.
We would like to thank Camp Pearl. The Staff was wonderful, the meals very nice, the facilities and grounds were beautiful. We had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing you next year!
