"I started thinking about raising Angoras in 1994. I had seen an article about a woman in the mid-west who had a small flock. She was very successful with them and I thought I could do the same. I worried about the humidity and decided to ask some "experts" at the county agents office and in Texas. I was quickly told it wouldn't work. I started raising Saanen dairy goats. Little did I know that I wasn't supposed to be able to do that either. They are now a thriving herd of 35.

My friend from Oklahoma who raises Angoras and my sister in law who spins and weaves peaked my interest again in 2001. In November our first Angoras came to live at Nightsong Farms. We've had our first shearing and the mohair crop is just beautiful. So far our Angoras have been healthy, happy producers and a wonderful addition to our farm."
