Stone Whorl Drop Spindles

The Stone Whorl Drop Spindles started as a need for Student Spindles. Once begun it blossomed into a collectable, functioning tool. Normally we use woods we gather from the farm wood lots, and woods found near and around us, and many of our little spindles are made from these very beautiful woods. Still over a special order we started to work with some exotics, and found out that we liked this too, so you will find native woods, and exotics.

The whorls are mostly made of beautiful natural stones that we find and purchase to make our spindles from. They range for the most part in the 40mm to 60mm range, but we do make the little takhli type spindles and they will be of the smaller whorls that will compare with the coin takhli's. Spindles will normally run in weight from 20 to 65 grams, but sometimes on rare occasions will be heavier or lighter, and will be stated in the discriptions of the spindle, as well as the length of the shaft (not counting the hook), type of stone and wood used.

Pricing is kept as reasonable as possible, and will be determined on the stone and the wood used, so each will be priced separately. Special orders will be accepted and filled as quickly as we can, please contact us if you wish to have a spindle made with a special stone and/or wood. We will try to fill your request depending on availablity of the stone and the wood.
