Lloyd Stretton has worked with wood all his life, as did his Father and Grandfather before him. When Margrett began weaving in 1972 and then spinning in 1973 it was only natural that she turn to her husband for the tools of her trade.
![]() Margrett at her first loom a LeClerc Nilus in 1976 Lloyd's handcrafted tools are one of a kind and made here at the farm, mostly with our own woods. Margrett's talent isn't limited to her fiber crafts, either. Her paint brush will leave you in spinning heaven when she applies it to your Ashford Spinning Wheel. Now both of us work at tools, and products for Fiber Artists. The beautiful drop spindles are a joint effort, along with the beautiful woods and metal work that goes with them. Our efforts are constantly changing as our interests branch into other areas. Always first and foremost the desire to enjoy what we do. We have ceased in some areas and begun in others as our desire to bring forth beautiful products change. Due to the increase in shipping fees, and the rising costs of making the larger items such as the looms our desire to make them is slowly decreasing to where they are made only rarely now. The time that the farm demands and our desire to slow down dictate that the larger items will appear less and less. |
